My Favorite Part of Circus...Send Us Your's  Submitted by Editor on   2/9/2009 Last Modified "MY FAVORITE PART of CIRCUS" Created by Rachel, age 13 This is a new feature on Circus4Youth which was suggested by 13 year old Rachel, who is a student / performer with Circus Juventas in St. Paul, MN.  Rachel, thought that it would be both fun and interesting if we asked kids from different youth circuses, and some professional circus kids, what is their "favorite part of circus".  Keep checking this article out, more will be added as we get them.   Let us know what is "your favorite part of circus"  send us a photo of yourself, the name of your circus and a breif description of "your favorite part of circus" to: circus4youth@earthlink.net     Left:  I love doing circus because it is very fun and  there is more fun stuff to do all the time. I like taking circus  classes because they are very fun and you get to learn and make new  friends!" Jerry, age 13,  Hiccup Circus, Pahoa, Hawaii Right: "Circus"  It's like taking a hot bath after a cold, cold Winter day. Like making S'mores in the backyard with your whole family. Or like having Ice Cream on a hot summer day. Like riding a bike for the first time. Add all that together and it's still not as good as, Circus!  Peter Fernandes, age 10, Circus Harmony, St. Louis, MO My favorite part of circus is a good practice, knowing you did well. I enjoy performing in front of lots of people, and when my family is in the audience.  I come from Peru...(not the one in Indiana), South America. Ale, age 17, Aerial Antics Youth Circus, Vero Beach, FL "Circus is a non-competetive way to stay physically fit.  Our circus combines dance with aerial arts, and I especially enjoy the dancing as well the acrobatic tumbling that goes with it.  I like working with the teachers and other students, we are like a family." I think that it is extra special for our circus after everything that our circus has been through, for the hard work and the fire, but we still came through, ...just like they say "The show must go on!" Mimi,  Circus Juventas, St. Paul, MN Skyler, age 5...her mom writes: " Skyler said her favorite part of this year's circus is the beginning of Spec* when her favorite clown Dustin Portillo (the boss clown) gets into the "Stretcher" illusion.  Dustin is stretched to 10 feet high.  Skyler is always chanting the lyrics to his song: "Stretch him up, stretch him up...Way up!  Turn that crank see how he grows...Looks like somebody needs some new cloths!" Skyler is on tour with her family on Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus. Her mom, Tina Miser, gets shot out of a cannon! *Spec is short for "Spectacular" and is a production number in the circus.
